THE RECORDING OF THE SINGLE "ME MUM"

BRITISH GROVE STUDIOS, LONDON

In this brand new rousing tribute to mums everywhere, Gilbert teamed up with the Treorchy Male Choir, a renowned Rhonnda Valley institution with 130 years of international success under its belt. The choirís current line-up has appeared on radio, TV, feature films and has contributed to recordings by Queen and Bob Marley among others.

Recording took place at British Grove Studios in London with the choir being recorded in Cardiff, after Gilbert had the idea of writing a song especially for Motherís Day this year. The result is a characteristically catchy track with all the hallmarks of Gilbertís craftsmanship; distinctive vocals, friendly lyrics and an irresistible refrain propelled by an excellent orchestral arrangement by Laurie Holloway.

ACAPELA STUDIOS, CARDIFF

Me Mum was mixed by Jon Kelly . Jon is known for his work with Chris Rea, Kate Bush and The Beautiful South, among others.  The choir was sequenced and recorded by Rupert Christie at  Acapela Studios Cardiff.
